More than Healthcare, Medicaid is a Lifeline

We keep talking about proposed cuts to Medicaid by the US Congress because so much is on the line. Cutting or capping this program, which is a big part of the health care bill that the US House of Representatives Passed and that the Senate is now considering, would be devastating.

To individuals with I/DD who receive Medicaid, it’s more than health care. It’s an entire support system of home and community supports that range from personal care and supported living to employment, community access, equipment, therapies, and more. In this video produced by the DDC Council and The Arc Washington State, individuals and families share what Medicaid does for them, and what cuts would mean.
