The Office of Public Instruction (OSPI) is conducting a survey to gather feedback on our state’s Social Emotional Learning (SEL) efforts. SEL is a process through which people build awareness and skills in managing emotions, setting goals, establishing relationships, and making responsible decisions. SEL supports success in school and in life in a manner that respects culture and honors diversity. SEL recognizes students are complex human beings whose learning and behavior are impacted by their emotions.
This survey will also be translated into Spanish and we will have that posted along with the English version as soon as it is completed.
In addition to the survey, you will also find a one-page document outlining our efforts, to date, in developing an SEL framework for Washington as well as a document that addresses SEL Frequently Asked Questions.
