The 2024 report, "Enhancing Services for People with Co-Occurring Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and Mental and/or Behavioral Health Supports in Washington," was created by the National Leadership Consortium on Developmental Disabilities with funding from the Washington State Developmental Disabilities Council. It explains the barriers faced by people with both developmental disabilities and behavioral health needs, including discrimination, lack of services, and challenges in accessing care. The report also provides practical recommendations, such as increasing mental health services in communities, improving training for providers, and better coordination between systems to make care more accessible and effective.
